Chief Accountant

Job scope

Lead and manage the company’s accounting and financial reporting function in full compliance with Armenian legislation, international standards, and internal corporate policies. Ensure accurate and timely financial information to support management decisions, maintain strong internal controls, and support the specific regulatory and operational needs of a pharmaceutical business.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the company’s full accounting cycle, including general ledger administration and month‑end closing.
  • Ensure full compliance with Armenian accounting, tax, social security, health‑insurance legislation, and internal corporate policies, advising management on regulatory changes.
  • Prepare, maintain, and verify financial statements, budgets, revenue and expenditure reports, ledgers, invoices, and other accounting documentation.
  • Collect, classify, and analyze financial information to record accurate accounting entries and support management decisions.
  • Oversee cash flow, expenses, and money supply, ensuring effective financial control and asset management (including vehicle fleet).
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and tax filings to state and municipal authorities (State Revenue Committee, Statistical Committee, local municipality, etc.).
  • Maintain and operate financial databases and software systems (e.g., SAP, local accounting tools), and ensure proper storage of paper and electronic documents.
  • Coordinate and process financial documents related to civil and outsourced service agreements of the Representative Office.
  • Prepare internal financial reports, statements, and analyses on the activities of the Representative Office.
  • Maintain working relationships with banks and relevant state authorities to support smooth financial and regulatory operations.

 

Requirements

  • Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Armenian accounting legislation and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with practical experience in preparing statutory and management reports.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy, especially MS Excel, SAP and local and accounting software
  • Knowledge of requirements to financial reports, and legislation in the Republic of Armenia relating to his/her main functions and responsibilities and all corresponding rules and procedures adopted by EGIS.
  • English language - fluent written and spoken.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and controlling. 
  • Financial knowledge: knowledge of accounting, budgeting and expense control principles.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and forecasts.
  • Analytical and communication skills, efficiency, ability to work in a team, disciplined, detail-oriented and reliable working style, paired with accuracy. 
  • Highly confident personality, problem solving attitude.
