Role Summary
The Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison, plays a key role in driving field-based marketing initiatives through strategic thought leader engagement and cross-functional collaboration. This position is responsible for developing and executing initiatives that align with broader brand strategies, working closely with internal stakeholders across Brand Marketing, the Patient Office, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and external agency partners.
Reporting to the Director, Thought Leader Liaison, this role offers the opportunity to engage with regional thought leaders, gather actionable insights, and influence brand strategy through peer-to-peer educational programming and insight-driven initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify, profile, and cultivate strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to support commercial objectives across the portfolio.
- Serve as a key liaison between the field and brand, ensuring KOL insights are captured, consolidated, and incorporated into brand strategy to drive awareness, engagement, and performance.
- Manage KOL engagement at key local, regional, and national congresses, including the coordination of KOL interactions and monitoring relevant presentations and sessions.
- Leverage deep knowledge of regional and national dynamics to evaluate the effectiveness of field marketing tactics and provide strategic recommendations for brand optimization.
- Support the understanding and communication of disease states relevant to Servier’s portfolio, as well as competitive market landscapes, to inform customer engagement strategies.
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects with a focus on compliance, efficiency, and high-quality execution.
- Collaborate with third-party agency partners in the planning and execution of field-based initiatives that align with brand objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of commercial-led advisory boards and other insight-gathering initiatives.
- Develop and manage a compliant, best-in-class peer-to-peer (P2P) education platform to maximize reach, frequency, and alignment with brand strategy.
- Oversee speaker bureau operations across therapeutic areas, including vendor management, training coordination, and speaker coaching.
- Partner with field leadership within assigned geographies to ensure successful implementation of commercial initiatives and tactical execution.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal stakeholders, including leadership, brand marketing, sales, compliance, legal, finance, market research, medical affairs, training, and IT.
Education and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, management consulting, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in marketing or related commercial functions
- Strongly preferred experience in thought leader engagement, advisory board execution, and speaker bureau management
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple, evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels
- Sales experience strongly preferred
- Hematology/Oncology experience required
- Experience working with vendors and managing third-party projects is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence without authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel and Location
- Able to travel for meetings, conferences and KOL engagements
- Up to 60% travel may be required
- Candidates must live in stated geography including TX, OK, AR, LA, KY, TN, MS, AL, GA, FL
