Job Description
Mission
Act as a critical commercial partner to the Marketing Manager, exercising full financial and strategic governance over the OTC portfolio. Operating as a player-coach, the GPM drives sustainable net sales, market share, and profitability through consumer-portfolio strategy, brand lifecycle management, hospital and retail-channel excellence, and disciplined execution across general trade, modern trade, wholesalers, e-commerce, and emerging channels. The role leads and develops the marketing team, builds strategic partnerships with distributors, retailers, doctors/pharmacists, healthcare stakeholders, and agencies, and champions compliant omnichannel activation that strengthens brand equity, availability, recommendation, conversion, and sell-out.
Activities & Responsibilities
- OTC Portfolio Governance & Strategic Vision: Architect the overarching 3-to-5-year growth roadmap for the OTC portfolio, balancing core-brand acceleration, innovation, line extensions, new claims or formats, and channel expansion while strengthening consumer relevance and brand equity.
- Portfolio P&L & Revenue Growth: Hold full accountability for the aggregate OTC portfolio P&L, net sales, value and volume market share, gross margin, brand health, and A&P. Allocate investment dynamically across brands and channels using growth potential, ROI, pricing, trade investment, cost of goods, promotion effectiveness, demand forecasts, and supply availability.
- Consumer, Doctor, Pharmacist & Channel Strategy: Translate consumer, doctor, pharmacist, store-owner, retailer, and competitive insights into differentiated brand positioning, core messaging, and integrated plans for the dual audiences of consumers (B2C) and doctors/pharmacists or trade partners (B2B). Build channel-specific strategies for hospital, pharmacy chains, traditional pharmacies and wholesalers, e-commerce, and other relevant OTC touchpoints to increase awareness, recommendation, availability, conversion, and sell-out.
- Strategic People Leadership & Talent Pipeline: Directly lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Product Managers and marketing support roles. Set clear objectives and performance standards, strengthen consumer marketing and commercial capabilities, and maintain robust development and succession plans.
- Integrated Brand Communication & Lifecycle Growth: Lead compliant, insight-led communication across consumer, pharmacist, healthcare professional, field-force, digital, social, e-commerce, and point-of-sale touchpoints. Direct full product lifecycle management and New Product IDgestion(NPD)/ (New Product Introductions (NPI) - from market insight, positioning, pricing alignment, and launch readiness through rollout and post-launch optimization - while defining campaign KPIs and scaling effective test-and-learn programs nationally.
- Commercial Execution, Value Chain & Governance: Align Sales, Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Excellence, distributors, agencies, and strategic retail partners behind annual plans and launches. Closely collaborate with BEX team to build high-impact trade schemes, visibility and POSM initiatives, and pharmacist recommendation programs; provide monthly Sales & Operations Planning S&OP demand-forecast inputs; monitor inventory, stock-outs, write-offs, and execution; and ensure compliance with Vietnamese law, applicable industry codes, and Servier ethical standards.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Mandatory Background: Pharmacist, Doctor, or relevant university degree, with excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, OTC/consumer healthcare marketing, retail and pharmacy channels, and applicable regulatory and ethical requirements.
- Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA), postgraduate marketing qualification, or recognized consumer healthcare/brand management certification is strongly preferred.
Work Experience
- Tenure: Minimum 8+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare commercial experience within leading multinational companies, including substantial OTC brand and channel responsibility.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record of at least 2 to 3 years of direct people management experience over professional product management lines, with documented success in talent promotion
- Domain Mastery: Demonstrated success managing a multi-brand OTC or consumer-healthcare portfolio, building consumer demand and pharmacist recommendation, developing pharmacy-chain and traditional-trade channels, and leading distributor, retail, e-commerce, media, or agency partnerships in Vietnam.
