Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in a global pharmaceutical environment? We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Adriatic team and oversee the financial health of our operations in Croatia and Slovenia.
In this role, you will act as a guardian of financial integrity, ensuring accuracy across the full accounting cycle while serving as a proactive advisor on regulatory changes.
Job Description
What You Will Do:
Financial Excellence & Operations
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, ensuring all transactions (invoices, bank statements, expenses) are recorded accurately in our ERP.
- Manage weekly payment orders for suppliers, tax authorities, and social institutions.
- Lead period-end financial closing activities, including complex accruals and yearly closing operations.
Compliance & Tax Management
- Perform monthly VAT submissions and prepare yearly tax declarations.
- Calculate corporate income tax in compliance with Croatian, Slovenian, and international requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external/internal auditors and tax authorities.
Analysis & Strategic Support
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to assess financial health and mitigate risks.
- Assist the Finance Manager with quarterly budget revisions and annual planning.
- Prepare statutory reports (Croatian GAAP) and manage Group accounting requirements (HFM).
- Provide data-driven analysis on sales performance.
Leadership & Integrity
- Mentor and coach junior team members to foster professional growth.
- Advise internal stakeholders on tax and regulatory changes.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, ensuring compliance with Servier Group procedures
Candidate Profile
What We Are Looking For:
- Education: University degree in Economics or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Technical Skills: Advanced computer literacy (Excel) and proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV is required. Experience with SAP is a strong advantage.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local (Croatia/Slovenia) and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Soft Skills: High analytical thinking, proactivity, and exceptional reliability.
