Role Summary

Servier Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Senior Director to join our growing Clinical Pharmacology team to lead the Clinical Pharmacology team in US. The Senior Director will be responsible for leading the clinical pharmacology team and strategy of the function, in addition to providing clinical pharmacology support to development projects working directly or through staff on multi-disciplinary teams. This position is a key member of the Clinical Pharmacology Department Senior Staff. The candidate is expected to establish and develop strong relationships with key cross functional partner functions such as clinical operations, clinical development, biostatistics, data management, medical writing, regulatory, safety and technical operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scientific and budgetary responsibility for the design, execution, analysis, interpretation and reporting of clinical pharmacology related studies including first-in-human, drug-drug interaction, biopharmaceutics and ADME studies.
  • Develop and execute clinical pharmacology strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners to advance drug candidates in an efficient and scientifically rigorous manner.
  • Lead cutting edge science, creativity, and novel approaches in clinical pharmacology and related areas.
  • Lead and develop a team of Clinical Pharmacologists located in the Boston office, in addition to providing oversight for work conducted by CROs.
  • Represent clinical pharmacology in project teams and in regulatory interactions including preparation of regulatory documentation and participation in meetings with regulatory agencies.

 

Education and Required Skills

  • PhD in clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences or related areas such as pharmacokinetics, pharmacology or drug metabolism with at least 12 years of relevant experience in drug development. Exceptional Masters or Bachelor degree candidates with demonstrated proven experience will be considered.
  • Must demonstrate the aptitude and experience to lead a clinical pharmacology group and effectively manage professional staff.
  • Extensive experience in formulating and executing clinical development strategies including design, interpretation and reporting of clinical pharmacology studies is required.
  • A working knowledge and previous experience with pharmacokinetic/ pharmacodynamics, drug-drug interactions, PKPD data management/analysis, and experimental medicine is also needed.
  • Broad familiarity with the drug development process, particularly for oncology, is highly desirable as is prior experience working with CROs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, are essential to perform in this matrixed and highly collaborative environment.
  • Working knowledge of common tools for quantitative clinical pharmacology such as NONMEM, R, WinNonlin, and SimCyp.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $265,000-$305,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
