Role Summary
Under the guidance of the Field Medical Lead for Hematology Oncology, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for managing and executing field medical activities within a specific geographic territory and contributing to company-wide initiatives that support Servier’s strategy. The MSL will serve as a critical link between Servier and external healthcare providers (HCPs) establishing strong professional collaborations with investigators and other HCPs within the designated territory. Focusing on hematologic oncology, the MSL will provide credible scientific expertise within Servier and share scientific insights that will impact the strategies of U.S and Global Medical teams, Servier’s Leadership Team, and other internal stakeholders. The MSL’s actions and collaborations with HCP’s are on the forefront of advancing science and medicine on behalf of patients.
Primary Responsibilities
Scientific Exchange with HCPs

Utilize internal platforms to identify and qualify key opinion leaders (KOLs) within your geographic territory.

Prepare and maintain a territory management plan that will be shared with Medical leadership and other internal stakeholders.

Establish and maintain collaborations with HCPs by identifying KOLs within your geographic territory and engaging in mutually beneficial scientific exchange regarding disease areas, therapeutic mechanisms of action, clinical study design/results, and Servier’s development pipeline.

Understand KOL viewpoint on research and science being conducted by Servier.

Collect, analyze, and communicate scientific insights with Servier’s Leadership Team and other internal stakeholders.

Respond to on- and off-label questions with the highest integrity, compliance, and adherence to legal, regulatory and Servier guidelines, policies & procedures.

Manage concerns of physicians and investigators regarding trials, drug usage, and challenges related to clinical care.

Develop and maintain an advanced level of knowledge about pertinent studies, compounds, and diseases that would facilitate collegiate and scientific discussions with leading oncology thought leaders.

Mastery of compliance concepts and ability to apply them to the ever-changing health care environment.

Consistently demonstrate a high standard of excellence in the management of assigned territory while also contributing to the success of colleagues and the MSL organization as a whole.
Knowledge Generation

Support company-sponsored studies (CSSs) by helping to identify appropriate sites and investigators, site initiation visits, engaging investigators, sharing trial updates, accrual support, identifying challenges related to the trial, and communicating appropriate information to internal stakeholders.

Support investigator-sponsored studies (ISSs) by reviewing proposals submitted by investigators within your geographic territory, identifying the trials that fit within Servier’s ISS strategy for the therapeutic area, presenting select proposals to local and global review committees, communicating committee decisions to investigators, and maintaining effective communication with investigators throughout the duration of the ISS.

Collect, analyze, and share relevant scientific information presented at congresses and during scientific exchange. When assigned, coordinate the efforts of other MSLs to provide coverage for a specific congress.

Participate in or lead advisory board meetings at the local, regional, and national level.
Internal Contributions

Generate and distribute timely, high-quality insights reports based on interactions with HCPs and information collected through congresses, literature review, internal platforms, and social media.

Provide education to internal stakeholders, sharing up-to-date scientific information about a therapeutic area and/or company products.

Provide medical support to facilitate the listing of products in medical guidelines, and formularies as appropriate.

Participate in cross-functional meetings as appropriate, compliantly providing guidance and sharing insights based on HCP interactions.

Autonomously execute projects that align with company strategy and require cross-functional collaboration.

Execute all responsibilities within legal, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.

Advocate for the Medical organization and the MSL role by understanding corporate strategy and describing how Medical (and MSLs, specifically) contribute to the achievement of that strategy.

Education and Required Skills

Accredited doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (MD, DO, PharmD, DNP, D.Sc, or Ph.D.)

MSL Hematology Oncology experience preferred (including scientific knowledge in Hematology Oncology and Oncology therapeutic products).

Product launch experience is preferred.

Excellent communication skills required, including the ability to listen, present scientific information with confidence and clarity, and engage in mutually beneficial scientific exchange.

Experience formulating and executing plans to achieve strategic goals consistent with the long-term interests of an organization.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Understanding of, and experience with, the legal, regulatory, and compliance framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, patient advocacy, and other business partners.

Travel and Location

Candidate must live in territory (IN, MI, OH, PA, KY, WV, VA, MD, DE, DC)

This is a remote position; however, frequent travel is required. The MSL should be available to travel up to 70% of time including occasional evenings and weekends.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $170,000-195,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
