The Role

As our Finance Manager, you will be the driving force behind our financial integrity and operational excellence. You will oversee the company’s financial accounts, ensuring precision in reporting, optimized working capital, and total alignment with regulatory standards. We are looking for a leader who can inspire a team, challenge the status quo, and implement smarter processes to continuously evolve our finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting Excellence

  • End-to-End Accounting: Lead the full IFRS accounting cycle across multiple entities, managing everything from AP/AR and General Ledger to bank reconciliations.
  • Reporting & Accuracy: Own the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all internal and external financial results are delivered accurately and on time.
  • High-Level Complexity: Personally manage sensitive or complex financial entries, including payroll and VPAG.

Shared Services Partnership

  • Collaborative Oversight: Partner effectively with the Shared Services Centre (SSC), ensuring clear task allocation, timely delivery, and swift resolution of operational hurdles.
  • Process Evolution: Regularly review workflows to drive performance improvements and efficiency gains.

Governance, Audit & Tax

  • Internal Controls: Maintain and evolve finance process documentation. You will proactively challenge and strengthen internal controls to ensure they remain robust as the organization grows.
  • Audit Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing timelines and ensuring statutory accounts are reviewed and signed off promptly.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure the business remains fully compliant with HMRC requirements, managing CT and VAT returns, payments, and Transfer Pricing documentation.

Team Leadership & Strategic Impact

  • People Management: Lead and develop your team by effectively organizing workloads, delegating projects, and fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth.
  • Strategic Support: Work closely with the FP&A Manager and Director of Finance, providing the financial insights and recommendations needed to shape the budgeting process.
  • Project Delivery: Lead local and HQ-driven finance projects, contributing your expertise to wider UK initiatives.

Industry Compliance & Standards

  • Regulatory Framework: Ensure all activities strictly adhere to the ABPI Code of Practice, Bribery Act, GDPR, and UK Law.
  • Safety & Ethics: Maintain a high standard of professional conduct, ensuring any pharmacovigilance information (such as adverse events) is recorded and reported according to company procedures.

What We Are Looking For

You are a qualified finance professional with a deep understanding of IFRS and UK statutory requirements. You are a natural leader who enjoys mentoring others and has a track record of improving financial controls and processes.
