Accounting manager

Job Description

i. Financial Accounting & Tax Management

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial accounting in line with company accounting guidelines, local statutory rules, and relevant regulations.
  • Supervise accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Verify account statements and oversee all tax-related activities, including corporate income tax and VAT filing, in coordination with external partners.
  • Manage and maintain financial systems (e.g., period closing, chart of accounts).
  • Coordinate internal and external audits for finance closing, tax, and customs, and oversee follow-up actions.
  • Implement continuous improvements for clear financial and controlling processes (purchase order, monthly and annual reporting).
  • Oversee AR/AP management, including intercompany transactions.
  • Review payment requests, vendor registrations, and journal entries prepared by staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to accounting team members.
  • Prepare and design financial reports using Navision data to support business users and decision-making.
  • Oversee accounting system operations.
  • Lead new financial system implementation and enhancements.

ii. Financial Reporting

  • Conduct monthly financial reviews and recommend improvement areas.
  • Improve reporting standards and analyze variances.
  • Prepare monthly financial results reports (HFM: Sales, B/S, P/L, cash flow).
  • Prepare year-end reports, including consolidation packages.
  • Ensure timely reporting of all monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial information.

iii. Internal Control

  • Monitor daily transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs (purchase, travel, etc.).
  • Propose and lead process improvements for finance-related activities.
  • Coordinate internal audit follow-ups with relevant stakeholders.

iv. General Affairs

  • Supervise administrative support for facility operations, purchasing, and related activities.
  • Manage office facilities, vendor contracts, and insurance.
  • Oversee company asset (Capex) management.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with proven success as a team leader.
  • Leading experience in year-end audit and monthly closing is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, compliance, tax, and financial controls.
  • CPA designation is a plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Navision, SAP, Concur), including report development and user support.
  • Experience in ERP/system implementation and process migration is a strong advantage.
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic, and willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and improvement-oriented, with a strong drive to enhance financial processes by leveraging market best practices.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Business English.
