Business Capability Lead

The Business Capability Lead is accountable for driving the transformation organizational capability by developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for sustained high performance. The role designs, implements and continuously enhances capability development startegies that address both current business needs and future capability requirements.

Job Description

1.Capability Needs Analysis

  • Define minimum standards of skills, knowledge, and behaviors required for current and future business success, including digital capabilities.
  • Identify high‑performance competencies and develop structured frameworks to support performance and development discussions.
  • Proactively assess capability gaps through formal and informal methods in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Prioritize learning and development initiatives that address capability gaps or leverage growth opportunities.

 

2. Initial & Ongoing Capability Building

  • Further develop and continuously improve the Initial Training Course (ITC) for sales representatives and managers in collaboration with the training executive.
  • Leverage digital innovation to deliver efficient, high‑impact training that enables rapid and effective transition into field roles.
  • Ensure high quality and consistency in ITC delivery by trainers.
  • Confirm that sales representatives and managers meet defined minimum standards prior to ITC graduation.
  • Plan, design, and implement ongoing capability‑building initiatives aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop tailored development plans based on individual and departmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records in compliance with local training SOPs.

 

3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Partnership

  • Develop the training executive as subject matter expert(s) for the ITC.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure timely and effective delivery of training programs.
  • Partner with the National Sales Manager to support the development of sales representatives and managers.
  • Work closely with other Business Excellence functions to design and deliver data and digital training that supports omnichannel customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure appropriate capability development across the organization.
  • Align with Global Learning & Development to ensure consistency with global standards and leverage available global resources.

 

4. Innovation and Learning Culture

  • Champion the use of digital, multichannel, and remote learning methodologies.
  • Design innovative, engaging, and effective learning platforms and strategies.
  • Deliver professional, creative, and high-quality learning experiences.
  • Continuously evaluate, measure, and optimize the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Actively promote the value and impact of the Business Capability function to strengthen the organizational learning culture.

 

5. People and Capability Management

  • Provide training support to internal departmental teams as required.
  • Manage the training executive and lead local learning and development initiatives in collaboration with global counterparts.
  • Support onboarding and development of new Business Capability team members.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Product Managers when required to support capability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with relevant Sales Managers and Product Managers when needed

Candidate Profile

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Science, Medical Sciences, or a related field; or
  • Graduate qualification in a Life Sciences discipline.

 

Knowledge and Professional Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong facilitation and training capabilities.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a training or learning & development role.
  • Experience delivering business excellence training, including the use of business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Veeva.
  • Sales experience is required.
  • Proven ability to design e‑learning modules and develop high‑impact training materials and presentations.
  • Strong experience integrating digital tools into learning programs.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
  • Strong ability to simplify complex information and deliver engaging, effective training to diverse audiences.
