Medical Executive - Kwa-Zulu Matal

Job Purpose:

To effectively promote Servier's pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, providing detailed product information and scientific benefits, thereby driving sales targets and enhancing patient care within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Target Implementation

  • Meet requirements in terms of required: o Customer call rates
    • Customer frequency
    • Customer coverage
    • Out of one-to-one contacts
    • CPD activities
  • Display strong territory knowledge, including:
    •  Territory demographics
    • Sales data and business plans
    • Customer profiles
    • Route Planning
    • Workflow processes and system and administrative requirements
    • Marketing intelligence.
  • Conduct customer sales analysis, implement structured call planning, and identify growth opportunities through effective segmentation and development strategies.
  • Drive product promotion ethically by engaging healthcare professionals, supporting increased prescriptions and pharmacy sales in line with company strategy.
  • Develop business plans, coordinate CPD-accredited meetings, and ensure compliance with speaker and event obligations to support professional education.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, share field insights with management, and collaborate across teams to contribute to broader business initiatives.

Risk and Compliance Support

  • Attend all team meetings and national sales conferences.
  • Comply with relevant regulatory and Servier system, policy and process requirements.
  • Understand the risks relating to code compliance, internal and external regulations and pharmacovigilance and display proactivity in identifying, mitigating and/or escalating risks to relevant stakeholders promptly.
  • Adhere to internal and external approval processes.
  • Fulfill mandated compliance training requirements (face-to-face and e-learning).
  • Maintain accurate, updated paper and electronic files and records for easy retrieval and ensure the two systems interfaces accurately.
  • Able to absorb and recall technical medical information efficiently
  • Understand the risks relating to code compliance, internal and external regulations and pharmacovigilance and display proactivity in identifying, mitigating and/or escalating risks to relevant stakeholders promptly

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Build and sustain strong, professional relationships with internal Servier staff through regular, open communication at all levels.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support the achievement of performance targets and business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain credible relationships with external stakeholders to advance Servier’s strategic goals.
  • Liaise with Training, Medical, and Marketing departments to source and deliver accurate, relevant information requested by customers.
  • Represent Servier at local specialist congresses and create opportunities to engage and influence diverse customer groups.
  • Take ownership of tasks, proactively manage stakeholder expectations, and participate in internal committees to support team and organisational success.

Sales Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports for sales management, detailing achievements, challenges, and market insights.
  • Manage and report all expenses in line with the approved budget, including submitting daily expenses and tracking spend against targets.
  • Drive cost efficiencies by adhering to company financial guidelines and promoting responsible use of resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in science-related field or equivalent qualifications.
  • Post-graduate Degree in health sciences or related fields will be an added advantage.

 

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Professional with foundational scientific knowledge and an interest in pharmaceutical sales.
