POSITION Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Oncology & Hematology to join our dynamic Medical Affairs team in Switzerland. The Medical Science Liaison is the medico-scientific expert in the field within his/her assigned area in Oncology/Hematology with a focus on engaging in high-level scientific exchange, on building and maintaining peer-to-peer relationship with external experts and on uncovering medical needs and generating relevant insights. The Medical Science Liaison will report directly to the Medical Lead Oncology & Hematology and work in collaboration with all departments of SERVIER (SUISSE) S.A. as well as with Global Medical Affairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary scientific expert in Oncology & Hematology, engaging proactively with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
- Identifies therapeutic area experts (TAEs) and institutional networks (e.g., patient organizations) within his/her area of expertise.
- Discuss treatment trends, unmet medical needs, and scientific insights regarding our oncology and hematology products.
- Provide balanced and objective scientific information and education on a peer-to-peer basis and to internal teams.
- Collect and report information and insights which could impact on national or regional medical plans.
- In collaboration with the Medical Lead Oncology & Hematology defines, set up, and executes regional medical plans in keeping with the medical strategy.
- Organize and participate in scientific events, advisory boards, and presentations of study results.
- Build and maintain expertise in his/her therapeutic area by continuous education and by participation in national and international congresses and company’s events.
- Collect, analyze, pass on, and follow clinical trial proposals (investigator Initiated trials)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical development and regulatory submissions.
- Close collaboration with the Key Account Managers (KAMs) and the marketing team to provide scientific updates and insights and support the launch and promotion of oncology and hematology products.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements and company’s Local and Global Policies and Guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced University degree in a health-related scientific field, such as MD, PhD or PharmD.
- A Professional experience working in the Swiss pharmaceutical industry (minimum of 3 years) preferentially as MSL or within Medical Affairs in Oncology Hematology; experience with Clinical research will also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of oncology/hematology and the Swiss legal and regulatory landscape.
- High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data.
- Experience in planning and initiating projects, or/and conducting clinical studies.
- Ability to build and maintain peer level relationship with TAEs and other key external stakeholders.
- Quick self-learner, ability and willingness to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to various audiences.
- Confident appearance, social competence, and diplomatic skills.
- Strong customer and patient orientation.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Fluency in French and English, good German knowledge, Italian a plus.
- Driving license, willingness to drive within Switzerland.
