Job Opportunity: Post-Doctoral Fellow in Neurological Disease Treatment

Are you passionate about advancing treatments for brain neurological diseases? We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join our team and tackle the challenge of delivering antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This project aims to evaluate and validate innovative delivery approaches that ensure high brain specificity for ASOs.

Why Join Us?

  • Innovative Research: Delivering ASOs across the BBB remains a major bottleneck in treating brain neurological diseases. While several approaches have been identified, they require further optimization for clinical application.
  • Impactful Work: Contribute to groundbreaking research that has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of neurological diseases.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including chemists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, and other scientists, to ensure the alignment and integration of research findings.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the chemistry department to deliver optimal constructs.
  • Conducting in vitro evaluations on neurons (training provided if needed).
  • Coordinating in vivo evaluations with DMPK, pharmacologists, and toxicologists.
  • Partnering with internal and external collaborators.
  • Staying updated with scientific advancements (literature review, new techniques).
  • Supporting data collection and sharing with R&D partners.
  • Organizing project review meetings, presenting data, and writing reports.
  • Communicating results through peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
  • Contributing to lab activities, mentoring students, and engaging in science outreach.

Profile:

  • PhD in in vitro Neurosciences or equivalent.
  • Previous post-doc experience in in vitro neuroscience is a plus.
  • Experience in in vitro culture and cellular microscopy.
  • Experience in neuronal in vitro culture is a plus.
  • Willingness to perform in vitro/in vivo experiments.
  • Basic knowledge in the ASO field.
  • Knowledge in chemistry and DMPK/Distribution is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Ability to mentor interns or technicians.
  • Team spirit, proactive, and result-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in writing and publishing in international peer-reviewed journals.
