Role Summary

The Associate Director, Medical Training (“trainer”) is responsible for contributing to both the development and execution of the Medical Affairs Team strategic training plan at Servier Pharmaceuticals across hematologic and solid tumor oncology. Under the direction of the Director of Medical Learning and Capabilities, and in close collaboration with Medical Directors, Field Medical leads, Scientific Communications, and R&D, the trainer will employ the principles of adult learning to assist in creation of a scientific training curriculum, develop materials in support of that curriculum, and deliver training to the Medical Affairs team. In addition to onboarding new field medical employees, the trainer will provide regular education to the Medical team on new scientific topics as well as non-scientific, skills-based training, systems training, and compliance training.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development and execution of strategic training plan for the Medical Affairs department and the field medical team including onboarding plans and continued education.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of Medical Affairs SharePoint site, including training resource libraries.
  • Contribute to the creation, updates, and execution of training road maps for new MSLs in each therapeutic area. Initial focus will include AML, ALL, MDS, cholangiocarcinoma, chondrosarcoma, and glioma.
  • Work closely with Director of Medical Learning and Capabilities and Field Medical Leads to provide feedback to new MSLs regarding their preparation to enter the field and engage HCPs. 
  • Delivery of non-scientific training on role-based skills, territory management, Veeva CRM and other relevant systems including Veeva Link, Concur, and library services.
  • Provide regular scientific trainings to the Medical Affairs team on new developments related to Servier’s oncology portfolio, including new data from clinical trials, updated information regarding disease state, testing, and competitive/therapeutic landscape. 
  • Coordinate with Director of Medical Learning and Capabilities to regularly evaluate the success of the training program and adapt the curriculum and delivery methods to maximize team learning.

Education and Required Skills

  • An advanced degree, such as an MD, PharmD, RN, Ph.D. or other relevant degree in life science. Health care professionals with significant clinical experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years’ pharmaceutical industry or other relevant experience including at least 2 years MSL experience is required. Must include scientific knowledge in Oncology and Oncology therapeutic products.
  • Excellent communication skills required, including a proven ability to analyze and present scientific information with confidence and clarity.
  • Self-starter and innovator with the ability to employ a variety of educational tools to maximize the impact of training.
  • Experience implementing adult learning principles to effectively educate adults with different backgrounds and learning styles is preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, the legal, regulatory, and compliance framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, patient advocacy, and other business partners.
  • Flexibility and comfort adopting new ideas, information, and approaches will be necessary to enable success in a rapidly growing organization.

 

Travel and Location

  • Boston-based candidates would work on a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week into our Seaport office with 25% travel
  • Remote candidates will be considered with 30-40% travel
