Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and highly organized Senior Manager to support our U.S. Legal, Privacy, Ethics & Compliance (“LPEC”) function.  This role reports to the U.S. Chief of Compliance & Legal and will serve as the connective tissue within LPEC and among other functions, ensuring alignment in planning, execution, communications, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with exceptional project management and communication skills, and a proven ability to drive clarity and structure in complex, matrixed environments.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Department Operations & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead the annual process for functional goal setting and defining of KPIs, ensuring alignment to enterprise priorities and driving periodic reviews
  • Own department-wide planning activities such as team meetings, offsites, strategic planning, and coordinating the annual calendar for key strategic and tactical activities
  • Manage the development of concise and impactful executive presentations, committee decks, and leadership reports
  • Support budget management, resource allocation and vendor engagement
  • Oversee external consultants and service providers involved with LPEC-driven enterprise initiatives
  • Serve as the point of coordination for cross-functional initiatives spanning LPEC
  • Align policies, training, communications, and stakeholder engagement across functions to improve clarity and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with cross functional colleagues and counterparts throughout the organization to reduce siloed execution – this may include collaboration with Medical, Commercial, Finance, HR, IT, and more.

 

Process Optimization & Tools

  • Identify opportunities to standardize templates, tools, and playbooks within and across functions for operational efficiency
  • Coordinate the automation, integration, and digital enhancements for LPEC activities

 

Enterprise Risk & Change Management

  • Collaborate with U.S. Ethics & Compliance and business colleagues to enhance the U.S. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program
  • Support enterprise and LPEC change management through efforts including coordinating communications, stakeholder engagement, and readiness and adoption assessments

Education and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s or other advanced degree preferred)
  • Biotech/pharma experience required
  • 6+ years of experience in legal, compliance, and/or business operations, ideally in a highly matrixed environment
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional programs or initiatives
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, able to synthesize complex topics
  • High attention to detail, enterprise thinking, and ability to lead through collaboration
  • Experience working with or supporting senior leadership teams preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERM frameworks and governance preferred

 

Travel and Location

  • Boston-based; hybrid role (2-3 days in the office per week)
  • Travel ~ 20%
