Sr Inventory Accountant

Role Summary

 

Servier Pharmaceuticals is seeking a driven Inventory Senior accountant to manage accurate and timely reporting of Inventory, Cost of Sales, and Intercompany inventory transactions. This role will report to the accounting Manager and entails partnering with Supply Chain, Quality, Trade, FP&A, Procurement and Accounts Payable. An ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, work independently, juggle many tasks and be enthusiastic about problem solving and process improvement. This person will play a key role in establishing and documenting internal controls, leading process improvement projects, acquisitions and product launches.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Accounting:

  • Lead period end close activities for inventory and cost of sales
  • Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations for all inventory activities
  • Review and record intercompany revenue, cost of sales and inventory transactions
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to record the reserve and disposal of expired inventory

 

NetSuite Transactions and Master Data:

  • Trusted advisor on Inventory transactions within NetSuite inventory module
  • Assist Accounts Payable team to resolve inventory invoice and Purchase Order discrepancies
  • Support the annual standard cost update and ensure costs are updated in NetSuite
  • Set up and maintenance of Standard cost, Item master, and Bill of Material in NetSuite
  • Utilize NetSuite reports to confirm accuracy and completeness of Manufacturing variances

 

Documentation & Projects:

  • Lead operational and system improvement projects and tasks
  • Make recommendations to improve our system of internal accounting controls and procedures
  • Establish documentation and SOPs for current and future policies and procedures

 

Audit Support:

  • Key contributor in the interim financial audit, year-end financial audit and internal audit
  • Coordinate year-end physical inventory counts for all 3PL locations

 

Education and Required Skills

 

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field. 4+ years of relevant work experience, preferably with 2 years of inventory accounting experience
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred, SAP/D4 experience a plus
  • Cost accounting/ Standard costing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who also works well independently
  • Able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations
  • Navigate ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

 

Travel and Location

  • No travel is required for this role
  • This is a hybrid position. Candidate is expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week
