Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Scientific Communications at Servier Pharmaceuticals plays a key role in the development and execution of comprehensive scientific communication strategies to support the company's oncology portfolio. This role involves creating high-quality scientific content, managing communication projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective dissemination of scientific information to various stakeholders. The position reports to the Dir, Scientific Communications & Publications and will partner closely with colleagues in medical strategy, HEOR, global, and external partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Scientific Content Development:
- Facilitate collaboration with internal teams, including US and Global medical affairs, clinical development, and marketing, to align communication strategies with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop scientific content for congresses, including strategic congress plans
- Expand expertise in disease areas of focus through continuous surveillance of the medical and scientific literature for relevant publications.
- Assist in the development of scientific communications strategy and planning for US oncology assets.
Publication Development & Management:
- Oversee execution of publication tactics (e.g., manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations) across the US product portfolio consistent with Servier SOPs.
- Partner with Director to manage publication vendor(s) in all aspects of the working relationship, including budgets, and contracting.
- Participate in routine US publication team meetings to facilitate strategic discussions related to publication planning and execution.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple scientific communication projects simultaneously with the Director, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of communication plans, in compliance with regulatory guidelines, industry standards, and company policies.
External Long Description
Education and Required Skills
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in a scientific or medical field.
- 5+ years of experience in scientific communications, medical writing, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of oncology therapeutic area and scientific research.
- Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for scientific communications.
- Experience with medical content management systems (e.g., Datavision, Veeva) and biomedical reference databases (e.g., PubMed, Ovid Medline) is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors on projects and deliverables.
Travel and Location
- Boston based hybrid role; 2-3 days a week in office #hybrid
- Up to ~20% travel (US and international) to attend regional and international conferences/workshops.
- This position may require occasional travel to attend medical congresses, meetings, and other events.
