Role Summary

 

The Director, US Ethics & Compliance, will collaborate with all Servier functions in a business partner role to foster a robust culture of ethics and compliance at the company. The position will collaborate directly with all functional teams at Servier, including Commercial, Medical, the Patient Office, and R&D, to ensure true partnership and understanding of Ethics & Compliance programs in pursuit of the company’s goals. The Director will provide strategic guidance, integrating ethics and compliance considerations into business operations and decision-making processes. The position will report directly to the Head of US Ethics & Compliance and will be an integral player on the Ethics & Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying compliance risks and opportunities and adept at driving a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory adherence throughout the organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Ethics & Compliance liaison with all business functions including Commercial, Medical Affairs, the Patient Office, and R&D
  • Support functional teams through proactive partnership and compliance advice and guidance that is timely, well-informed, and practical
  • Collaborate with business partners to structure activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and with Servier’s ethical values
  • Ensure that compliance policies and procedures are understood, implemented, and followed across all business functions
  • Design, develop, and implement healthcare compliance policies, processes, and guidelines
  • Develop and provide training for business partners on healthcare compliance topics in accordance with the annual training plan
  • Support business units in implementing corrective actions and improvement initiatives based on monitoring, audit, and investigation findings
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends, and proactively communicate their impact to relevant business functions
  • Participate on standing or ad hoc cross-functional teams to provide ethics and compliance input and expertise
  • Cross-train on areas/activities led by other Ethics & Compliance team colleagues to optimize business continuity and work/life balance

 

Education and Required Skills

  • 7+ years of work experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical healthcare compliance, with a focus on business partnering
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • In-depth subject matter expertise in key biotech/pharmaceutical healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Strong business acumen and ability to navigate and influence effectively in a dynamic and matrixed organization
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written business communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and objectives, complete complex tasks under minimal supervision or guidance, and exercise discretion and confidentiality in a consistent and professional manner

 

Travel and Location

  • Boston-area based, hybrid role with a minimum of 2-3 days in the Boston office
  • 10-15% travel time
