Role Summary

 

The Associate Director, US Analytics – Hematology/Oncology reports into Head of Analytics within the US CDSO department that that oversees corporate and pipeline strategy, business development, business insights, and shared operations among other responsibilities. Supporting the hematology franchise, the Associate Director, [Heme/Onc] US Analytics will play a critical role in elevating data driven decision across the organization through ownership of enterprise analytical capabilities, synthesizing analytical projects into persuasive presentations, and acting in partnership with commercial functions and business development for effective decisions.

 

 

Specific Responsibilities for Hematology/Oncology:

 

 

  • Establishes corporate performance and tracking metrics and designs and produces routine management dashboards and ad hoc reports to assist the executive management team in understanding and managing the business
  • Tracks execution of the brand plan and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, marketing and/or market access efforts.
  • Leads and communicates key finding of the synthesis of complex information, opportunity identification, and development of actionable conclusions and recommendations.
  • Contributes meaningful insights and strategic input to the brand plan situation analysis.
  • Adds depth to insights by developing a thorough understanding of all key brand commercial dynamics, including disease state, market landscape, product attributes, unmet needs, key treatment providers / prescribers and payers
  • Serves as a partner to functions and stakeholders to identify key business questions and knowledge gaps that can be addressed via analyses and reports.
  • Lead the design, assessment and interpretation of data in a statistically relevant context to support data needs for the franchise
  • Evaluates key business challenges and contributes to the execution of complex, ambiguous analytical projects which have cross-functional impact
  • Contributes to key projects that will enable the company to continue to grow and scale, e.g. Data Strategy Roadmap and Implementation
  • Develops and manages an annual budget specific to franchise needs

 

Skills and Education:

 

  • BS/BA degree in business, science or quantitative disciplines such as mathematics or statistics and 7+ years of experience using analytical techniques to address business questions; relevant advanced degree and consulting experience preferred
  • Ability to engage with executive stakeholders to translate business problems into analytics solutions
  • Expertise in using advanced analytics to drive business value and make informed decisions within a strategic organization.
  • Experience supporting both launch and mature brands preferred.
  • Experience within the oncology therapeutic area or rare disease preferred
  • Firm understanding of statistical methodology, machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability using analytical techniques to address business questions.
  • Ability to integrate and synthesize both primary and secondary information to create fact-based cohesive stories, insights, and actionable and persuasive recommendations
  • Excellent research skills with ability to identify and seek needed information
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, VBA proficiency preferred; proficient with other Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Word; broad-based awareness and experience in MS Access
  • Strong skills in SAS, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and/or other visualization and modelling software
  • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions
  • Forward-looking business acumen, with strategic understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, market access, and medical affairs
  • Adept communication skills, including ability to summarize complex issues concisely and listen effectively to concerns and problems
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work with people at different levels from various parts of the organization

 

 

Other Relevant Information:’

  • Boston based candidates preferred but not required
  • Able to travel up to 10% for meetings/workshops, external conferences, and internal meetings/off-sites, as required by position
