Role Summary

 

The Associate Director of Talent Acquisition is a strategic role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive talent acquisition strategies that align with business objectives. This role oversees end-to-end recruitment activities for designated requisitions, drives operational excellence across sourcing and recruiting, leads special projects, and manages one direct report responsible for interview coordination and talent acquisition operations.

 

Specific Responsibilities 

 

Sourcing Excellence

  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies utilizing diverse methods including LinkedIn, networking, employee referrals, and university partnerships to identify and attract qualified candidates. 
  • Build and maintain robust talent pipelines for critical roles across R&D, clinical, manufacturing, and commercial functions. 
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to inform proactive recruitment plans and talent attraction campaigns. 
  • Drive employer branding initiatives to position the company as an employer of choice within the pharmaceutical industry. 

 

Recruiting

  • Manage all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition creation and candidate screening to interviewing, selection, and offer negotiation. 
  • Partner closely with hiring managers, department heads, executive leadership, and HR business partners to understand talent needs and provide strategic guidance. 
  • Develop and deploy diversity recruiting strategies to build high-performing, diverse teams and ensure inclusive hiring practices. 
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and vendors. 
  • Ensure a positive, seamless, and inclusive experience for all candidates. 

 

Projects & Operations

  • Lead and/or contribute to talent acquisition project work, including workforce planning initiatives, system implementations and/or enhancement, and process transformation efforts.
  • Continuously improve recruitment processes for efficiency, scalability, and compliance, implementing best practices across the function. 
  • Optimize talent acquisition technologies, including applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment marketing platforms, and CRM.
  • Measure and report on talent acquisition metrics to assess effectiveness and drive data-driven improvements. 
  • Manage talent acquisition budget and costs effectively. 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and internal governance standards. 

 

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage Talent Acquisition Coordinator/Specialist responsible for:
    • Interview scheduling and coordination across multiple, complex stakeholders
    • Candidate communication and logistics management
    • CRM/ATS data integrity, reporting, and system administration
    • Onboarding coordination and new hire documentation
    • Agency invoice processing and vendor management support
  • Provide coaching, development, and performance management for direct report.
  • Delegate operational tasks effectively to ensure focus on strategic priorities.

 

Skills and Education

 

  • 7+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in sourcing strategies, recruitment marketing, and talent acquisition technologies. 
  • Proven track record leading special projects and driving operational improvements.
  • Experience recruiting for R&D, clinical, or commercial roles preferred. 
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members.

  

Other Relevant Information

                                                                                        

  • Based in Boston; 2-3 days per week required on site
  • Minimal travel will be required

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $167,000 - $198,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
