Role Summary
The Associate Director, Neurology Analytics will report into the Senior Director of the Strategic Business Insights for Neurology within the US Corporate Strategy, Development & Operations (CSDO) department that oversees corporate and pipeline strategy, business development, business insights, and shared operations among other responsibilities.
The Associate Director, Neurology Analytics will support the US Neurology business as a pivotal partner in defining, understanding, and developing the strategy, resourcing and expectations for our first Neurology launch. The individual will be responsible for planning, budgeting and executing pre- and post- launch reporting and analytics to inform the product plans, expectations and strategy.
This role will act in an enterprise capacity to engage in active collaboration across multiple functions including Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Forecasting, Analytics, New Product Planning, and US Leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive market/customer analytics insights that guide launch readiness and execution with aligned business rules and definitions across the enterprise
- Responsible for all pre-launch analytics deliverables (e.g. claims segmentation, adoption analysis, helping define target universe and personal/non-personal targets, etc.)
- Establishes corporate performance and tracking metrics and designs and produces routine management dashboards and ad hoc reports to assist the executive management team in managing the business
- Tracks execution of pre- and post- launch activities instrumental to achieving the brand vision and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, marketing and/or market access efforts.
- Adds depth to insights by developing a thorough understanding of all key brand commercial dynamics, including disease state, market landscape, product attributes, unmet needs, key treatment providers / prescribers and payers
- Serves as a partner to functions and stakeholders to identify key business questions and knowledge gaps that can be addressed via analyses and reports.
- Leads the design, assessment and interpretation of data in a statistically relevant context to support data needs for the franchise
- Evaluates key business challenges and contributes to the execution of complex, ambiguous analytical projects which have cross-functional impact
- Work closely with market intelligence ecosystem within CSDO to ensure that research and information is closely aligned with team outputs (e.g. market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting) and that deliverables are holistic in nature, contributes meaningful insights and strategic input to the brand plan situation analysis.
- Develops and manages an annual budget specific to franchise needs
Education and Required Skills
- BS/BA degree in business, science or quantitative disciplines such as mathematics or statistics and 7+ years of experience using analytical techniques to address business questions; relevant advanced degree and consulting experience preferred
- Forward-looking business acumen, with strategic understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, market access, and medical affairs
- Adept communication skills, including ability to summarize complex issues concisely and listen effectively to concerns and problems
- Cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work with people at different levels from various parts of the organization
- Expertise in using advanced analytics to drive business value and make informed decisions within a strategic organization.
- Experience supporting both pre-launch, launch and mature brands preferred.
- Experience within the neurology therapeutic area or rare disease preferred
- Strong understanding of statistical methodology, machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence.
- Ability to integrate and synthesize both primary and secondary information to create fact-based cohesive stories, insights, and actionable and persuasive recommendations
- Excellent research skills with ability to identify and seek needed information
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, VBA proficiency preferred; proficient with other Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Word; broad-based awareness and experience in MS Access
- Strong skills in SAS, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and/or other visualization and modelling software
- Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions
Travel and Location
- Boston-area preferred with an ability to be in office in accordance with company policy (2-3 days/week).
- Travel ~15% of the time for meetings/workshops with Global (Paris), external conferences, and internal meetings/off-sites

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
