Who Are We ?

ORIL Industrie (1,000 employees), the 2nd largest chemical industrial site in France and a subsidiary of the SERVIER Group, committed to therapeutic progress for the benefit of patients, is a strategic site for pharmaceutical chemical production.

Thanks to its know-how and cutting-edge expertise, the site produces nearly 2,000 tons of active pharmaceutical ingredients each year, used notably in medicines prescribed for oncology, neurology, cardiology, diabetes, and venous insufficiency.

The Bolbec site is unique in combining both industrial production activities and an R&D center dedicated to the development of chemical syntheses for new medicines.

Join our team as a Chemical Scientist in Continuous Flow Chemistry to shape the future of innovative treatments!

Within our Technological Development entity and under the direction of the local manager of the "InnoFlow" team, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in the development of new continuous chemistry processes applied to the production of tomorrow's active ingredients.

 

Your main responsibilities:

Process Development in continuous chemistry:

  • Adapt existing batch processes to continuous chemistry with objectives of gains in productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Design and test new continuous chemistry synthesis strategies in the laboratory for the production of intermediates and APIs.
  • Test and implement online analytical monitoring tools as well as data acquisition tools.

Perform scale-up:

  • Based on a laboratory proof of concept, and according to needs, ensure scale-up to Kilo-Lab, or even contribute to the industrialization of a continuous chemistry process.

Develop knowledge in continuous chemistry:

  • Conduct bibliographic research applied to your projects.
  • Ensure knowledge updates and share them with the team.
  • Test cutting-edge and future methodologies and technologies adapted to continuous processes (photochemistry, electrochemistry).

Writing and quality of Scientific Documentation:

  • Write protocols and study reports that will contribute to the advancement of research and the sharing of knowledge.
  • You are the guarantor of all results obtained.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Share the progress of your work with internal teams and management, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Work transversally with other entities.

What we are looking for:

Education: PhD, Engineer, or Master’s degree in synthetic chemistry or process chemistry, with experience in flow strongly desired.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in organic synthesis.
  • Expertise in the development of continuous chemistry processes.
  • Experience in an environment compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Expertise and appetite for necessary organic chemistry manipulation.
  • Knowledge of new technologies such as photochemistry and electrochemistry.
  • Language skills : Proficiency in English.
