Calibration and Maintenance Specialist

Reporting to ASL Support Supervisor, you will be expected to assist with the Calibration & Maintenance of all Laboratory Equipment, maintaining the established Calibration Program within ASL for all Equipment & associated software.  Carry out the roles and responsibilities of the job function outlined below in an autonomous and responsible manner while maintaining good relations with, and flexibility within your team and other departments.

 

Operational:

  • Dealing with Contractors (e.g. signing in, visitor training)
  • Sending equipment away for calibration (weights/temp probes)
  • Reviewing documentation (e.g. IQ/OQ/PQ, calibration certs.)
  • Investigating Breakdowns (e.g. contacting contractors, performing repairs)
  • Helping analysts with issues/troubleshooting
  • Performing calibrations - (solvent recyclers, KF yearly checks etc.) with a focus on integration of existing contractor work into your scope of delivery as required
  • Performing 3M temperature checks (on LCs, water baths, column heaters etc.)
  • Weekly Refrigerator/Freezer temperature checks
  • Monthly graphs of Stability cabinet temp/Humidity profiles
  • Work with ASL Manager/ASL Support Supervisor on budget preparation for new equipment (organising quotes, arrange install etc.)
  • Work with ASL Manager & ASL Support Supervisor on new Equipment qualification and validation
  • Assist with Updating SOPS/WISOPS for equipment
  • Updating Range of use forms
  • Maintaining monthly calibration programme
  • Assist with Data integrity remediation on systems/SME for ASL on Data integrity
  • Software administration - Empower/IDIS/IR/Hardness tester etc.
  • Defining the spare part requirements for analytical equipment
  • Assisting with Audits

    Position Requirements

    Essential:

    • 3rd level Qualification in Science / Instrumentation / Automation
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong positive attitude is essential for this position.

     

    Desirable:

    • 4 or more years’ relevant experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory.
    • Honours Degree in Chemistry/Analytical Science
    • Previous Experience in a similar role
